As soon as we start to talk about a streetcar system for downtown Columbus, Ohio, everyone gets a different picure in their mind of what we are talking about. What will they look like, how will they run, why they are needed...all immediate questions that come to mind.
One of the first things we think about though is what it is going to mean to each of us. If you're not a frequenter of downtown Columbus, and don't live anywhere near the proposed streetcar line, your main question will probably be, "Why?"
Throughout this section of the Citizen Support Site, we attempt to share some of the specifics of streetcar system, along with some perspectives on why we're even pursuing such a system. The goal is to provide a sreamlined and digestible overview of the project and what it will ultimatley mean to every citizen of Columbus over the next 20 years and beyond as the first step in a larger plan.
